Stan Lotzoff was a long time member NTEU Chapter 24 and was treasurer for over 15 years, when he died of complications from cancer in September 2004.  Stan was so much more to the union that just treasurer. He also was a steward and was very active in the legislative area. He looked forward to the NTEU legislative conference held in Washington, D.C. every year. He would lobby our congressional delegation for better pay and benefits for our members.

Stan had a personal life as well. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; 2 children, Steven and Lauren; and 2 grandchildren whom he idolized, Hannah and Austin.  Besides the union, his other passion in his life was golf. It was only fitting and proper that one of the last outings Stan was able to do was attend the 2004 Ryder Cup, held in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan in September 2004, just a week or so before he died. Stan had purchased the tickets the year before and his son Steven was able to take him.

We all have are different memories of Stan, whether you were a co-worker in Farmington Hills or Livonia or golfed with him or worked with him in the union. No one can ever take those memories away from us.
